SRH12 Timken Ring Block Friction and Wear Testing Machine (Timken Method)

SRH12 Timken ring friction and wear testing machine is also called Timken tester, measuring various lubricants, lubricating oil, grease and solid lubrication film) : the carrying capacity under the specified test conditions, the comparison of lubricant oil film rupture and able to withstand the maximum test force is OK before, accord with national standard SHT0203-1992 extreme pressure grease performance measurement method (ladder, Ken tester), USES the line contact brush sliding friction and wear performance of the way of test sample.

Working principle

The active part is a standard rotating ring, the passive part is a fixed rectangular block of standard size.The bearing capacity of lubricant and the friction and wear performance of friction pair materials were evaluated by measuring the width of strip wear mark on the rectangular block of passive specimen under different loads, as well as the friction and friction coefficient between the friction pair materials.

It can be used to evaluate the lubrication properties of various lubricants under the condition of oil immersion lubrication, especially for the simulation evaluation of the abrasion resistance of middle and high grade automobile gear oil, and can be used to study the wear properties of various metallic and non-metallic materials and coatings.

The machine for frame type structure, servo motor control lever load, the test parameters to achieve unitized setting, convenient operation, accurate and reliable test readings, the machine USES integration structure design, computer, software, industrial control module, the actuator combinations in a framework, complete control of the whole experiment process, can collect real-time experiment data and draw the corresponding curve, can be arbitrary stored, read and print the test data or curve.

● SH/T0203-2014 "Grease Extreme Pressure Performance Determination Method Timken Testing Machine Method"

● OK value: the maximum mass (weight) that is applied to the weight plate of the load lever without causing scratch or bite during the measurement of lubricant bearing capacity.

● Scratch value: the minimum mass (weight) added to the weight plate of the load lever in case of scratch or bite in the process of measuring the bearing capacity of lubricant.

Method summary

Before starting the test, the sample should be preheated to 37.8℃±2.8℃.In the test, a steel test ring is turned against a steel test block.The rotational speed is 123.71m/min±0.77m/min, which is equivalent to the shaft speed of 800r/min±5r/min.

Two values need to be determined: the minimum mass (weight) of the rupture of the oil film between the rotating test ring and the fixed test block that can cause a bite or scratch, namely the scratch value.

The maximum mass (weight) of the oil film between the rotating test ring and the fixed test block that does not break without causing snagging or scratching, i.e. OK value.
